pregnancy after tummy tuck the truth

hi all,
if youve found this site im sure its after looking all over the web for info on pregnancy after tummy tuck and coming up with next to nothing.i had the same problem,it was really frustrating.this is why i decided to make a blog for mums to be and women thinking about having another pregnancy after tummy tuck and all the stuff that goes with it eg worries about weight gain and how your tummy will look after the birth.

so heres my story:-
in june 2008 thinking that i wasnt going to have anymore children,i had my tummy tuck, all went well and they managed to also stitch my tummy muscles back together aswell as getting rid of all the extra skin and fat i had from my 1st and 2nd pregnancies.
by january 2009 7mths after tummy tuck,i wanted another baby,i cant explain it,all i know is that it was an unbelieveable urge to bring another life into this world.i talked it over with my husband and of course the issue of the money we had just spent on tummy tuck came up,but i managed to convince him that 3 was the magic number and by feb 2009 i fell pregnant with my 3rd child.

just so you get a clear picture:-

this is me before my tummy tuck

as you can see i had loads of excess fat and skin on my belly from the 1st 2 pregnancies

this is me after tummy tuck

as you can see the excess skin and fat has gone

i am new to blogging and this is just the 1st page giving you some history,be patient and i will tell you the whole story when i get a chance to type it.if you have any questions please post and i will get back to you asap

  1. Can you please contact me at tripletmombgb@yahoo.com
I had a TT with muscle reconstruction 18 months ago, and, like you, I'd like to have another. I have no one to talk to or ask details about so I'd love to be in contact with you.
Best wishes and many congratulations on your new addition!!!!

  2. You are right there is no information out there. I first saw your videos on utube. I had a TT about 8 months ago and have been having that urge to have just one more. I don't know if we will have another one but it's nice to know it is possible. Thank you so much for the posts. Congratulations on the newest member of the family.

  4. Thanks for posting and sharing. I am also going through another pregnancy after having a tummy tuck 3 1/2 years ago. It was a big surprise and I was worried, but not so much now after seeing your blog and youtube experience. So far, at 23 weeks, everything is progressing well and nothing unusual. I do feel I am carrying higher and get a little breathless easier, but don't we all esperience that at t one point. I can care less about extra skin but am more worried about the muscle repair coming undone. I tend to have big babies irregardless of how I eat. I will also be having a c-section which is unavoidable. Like you, I tend to have growth spurts so I have been slathering on the creams in hopes of not gaining too many stretch marks. It is still early none have appeared but I am not keeping my fingers crossed.
Anyways, just wanted to let you know how appreciative I am of putting your story out there and to let others know that its not the end of the world. For Danielle, I would wait unless you are sure you don't want anymore. You can't gurantee the results so that is the chance you are taking and its not a process I would like to do all over again. Just have to hope for the best and know that in the end, this baby will be truly an added blessing to our family.

  5. Hi...my name is Shari. I'm 24 and had my tummy tuck 2.5 years ago and my doctor did a great job. However I'm now 5'4 and 120 pounds with a 24 inch waist. I'm so afraid I no longer have enough skin left to stretch or enough room to have another baby (I've had 2). I feel so "small" now I was 190 pounds and had my surgery when I was 140 pounds then lost additional weight, leaving me at 120 for the past few years. Anyway my stomch is flat and I cant imagine having room for another baby. Did you feel the same? I'm scared about my muscles ripping apart. I'm also afraid of the baby not having enough room to grow large enough and becoming unhealthy. I do have an appointment with a plastic surgen to discuss my skin's stretching capabilities. I guess my main and most important question is, were you similar to my size when you became pregnant after your tummy tuck? (I'm using my husband's g-mail which is why it says "Arron said..." lol sorry about that. :)

  6. Im 32 with two amazing little boys however Im remarried now and my husband and I have talked about having a baby. I had my TT 3 years ago and all went well except when I put on a few pounds I felt as thought my stitches were gonna pop, I cant imagine being pregnant. like all of you Im scared of the pain being pregnant would cause. I dont care about getting stretched out again, but Im terrified of waking up one morning 7 months pregnant and coughing or sneezing and "ripppppp".

  7. OMG! If I have a husband, I would not want to have tummytuck. I will have all the babies I want until I get tired of getting pregnant.I am 5'1 96 lbs. I have 6 children ages 8,7,6,twins, 4yr old girl, 1 yr old boy born Jan.28,2009. I have a flat tummy, however in the middle is wrinkled. I look great outside, but not my tummy. I am divorced. I like to take nice pics of myself. This is the reason why I want to get a tummy tuck. If I am still married, no way for tummy tuck.I'll just work out. Anyways, I want tt so bad,but again I'm afraid I will meet somebody who wants kids with me.I'm afraid of going through the pain, then another pain again plus another loose skin.I like seeing myself wearing a bikini and take a lot of pics. I have been watching videos for tt. I am so scared already. Please tell me how painful it is to have the tt? Is it painful than induced labor? I have 2 induced labor and itwas painful. I swell too.

  10. This was sooo helpful. please email me at PaTT2013@gmail.com I had a baby boy 4 months ago, I also have a 2 year old boy. I know there is no guarantee but i've always wanted a girl. My ideal of perfection would be two boys and a girl, I'll settle for three boys.. I like larger families. However after the birth of my second my stomach looks like yours after your second. Its actually worse. People ask me daily when I am due, and if its a boy or girl. i live on an island where people will ask anything at anytime. So I went to the doctor who said I have a large hernia which I think is essentially diastasis recti ...he said he can repair the muscles.. and made it sound like I can't continue living like this...for medical reasons.. I agree that this is uncomfortable and embarassing.. but I want a third so bad.. I was going to tie my tubes but seeing how much you looked like me before, Im wondering if maybe I CAN get pregnant after abdominoplasty! Up until now every one i saw online with tummy tucks had these barely there stomachs that they wanted to 'fix'.. i'm happy to see someone who actually had a stomach that needed a tummy tuck and then you were still able to carry and go back down to a flat stomach. Did it all work out? Please email me.

  11. Hi there,

Thank you for your posts and videos, very helpful, would you mind posting a picture or video after you had the baby? is the tummy same as before TT or marginally better or a lot better? would you consider another TT or there's no need post baby?

    Thanks

  13. Hello I had a tummy tuck done in May 2010 and I just found out I'm pregnant but I'm really scared because the doctors told me I should not have any more kids. What I would like to ask you is was there a lot of pain as the baby grew and also how does your stomach look and feel after you delivered? Also I will be having a C-section as well since thats how I've delivered my last two children!

  19. I just found out that I am pregnant. As of today I am 8 weeks and 4 days. I am not showing at all and all my regular clothes fit. I have a 14YOG and 12YOB-I had my tunny tuck when he was 18 months old after I lost everything I had gained and tried everything to get my flat stomach back- sometimes surgery is the only way. I literally could not suck in my 'overhang' as much as I tried. They did repair my muscle since they were essentially destroyed after the 2nd birth- obvious reason why I was unable to regain my previous toned stomach. This 3rd baby is a complete surprise....my husband had a serious accident where he damaged his testicles so there was a high possibility of his sperm being nonviable. Well his accident was October 2010 and 1 year and 3 months after his accident and not using birth control at all, here we are SURPRISE! He is excited, while I am frightened. I am 38YO in good shape and good help. What will the outcome be a healthy baby? I hope so. But will mom fair the same and be able to be a good mom? Thats my main worry. I picture in my head my stomach stretching to a point where it is transparent or worse where it will break and all will come loose. Yes, nightmare at times come with the territory of pregancy. Can any one give me words of advice??? Words of encouragement??? Or tell me, oh boy hold on for the worst possible pregnancy experience ever! I am seriously loosing my cool here.

  45. Weak abdominal muscles are often associated with lordosis, or sway back. After an abdominoplasty, patients may notice that their posture has improved significantly, thanks to the tightened muscles supporting their spine. The improved support and better posture can have the added benefit of relieving certain types of back pain.

  58. If Dr. Kiran Naik, a cosmetic surgeon in Mumbai, has advised you on the possibility of pregnancy after a tummy tuck surgery, it's essential to follow their recommendations. Dr. Kiran Naik would have examined your specific case and provided guidance based on your individual circumstances, medical history, and the details of your tummy tuck procedure.

In general, whether or not you can safely have a pregnancy after a tummy tuck surgery depends on several factors, as I mentioned in my previous response. These factors include the timing of the surgery, the extent of the surgery, and your personal health considerations. Dr. Kiran Naik would be the best person to provide you with guidance specific to your situation.

If you have any concerns or questions about your tummy tuck surgery and the potential impact of pregnancy, I recommend scheduling a follow-up appointment with Dr. Kiran Naik to discuss your options and receive personalized advice. Your healthcare provider will be able to provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding your unique circumstances.
